Jazz Pianist and composer
Kate Wyatt is a Montreal-based pianist and composer originally from Victoria, BC, widely regarded as one of the top jazz musicians in the city. Praised for musical ideas and a style of playing "on par with the current jazz piano elite," she has been hailed as one of the leading artists on the Montreal, Quebec, and Canadian jazz scenes.
In 2022, Wyatt released her critically acclaimed album Artifact, leading a quartet whose effortless chemistry and deep interaction earned glowing reviews. Over her career, she has performed alongside celebrated musicians including Kenny Wheeler, Ranee Lee, Christine Jensen, and the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal, and her work has been recognized with awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, FACTOR, and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
Equally passionate about education, Wyatt heads the jazz program at Marianopolis College, conducts masterclasses, and has been a member of the CAMMAC teaching team for over a decade, most recently joining the faculty at JazzWorks Canada.
