Jazz and blues saxophonist and harmonica player
Thiago Ferté is a Brazilian saxophonist and harmonica player based in Quebec since 2011, bringing to his music the warm swing of the tropics blended with the deep roots of blues and jazz. Inspired by legendary harmonica players such as Sonny Terry, Little Walter, and Sugar Blue, as well as the universe of Robert Johnson, he forged a rich and singular musical identity in the 1990s.
With extensive experience on the blues and jazz scenes in Brazil, France, and Quebec, he has collaborated with many renowned musicians and performed at prestigious festivals, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Quebec City International Jazz Festival, the Savassi Jazz Festival in Brazil, and the El Bolson Jazz Festival in Argentina. Holder of a Master's degree and a PhD in jazz saxophone from Université Laval, he also teaches music at Cégep de Sherbrooke and Bishop's University.
