Carl Mayotte’s new concert features music from his latest album, Claude. While staying true to the high energy and virtuosity that define his ensemble, the show introduces a more emotional and introspective dimension. Inspired by two life-altering events, including the passing of his father, this music masterfully balances nostalgia with a sense of liberation—an experience designed to bring both a smile to your face and chills to your skin.
With Claude, Carl Mayotte offers a work that is both intimate and radiant, shaped by two pivotal moments: the loss of his apartment in a 2023 fire and the death of his father in 2024. From these trials emerged music where nostalgia blends with the joy of remembrance, carried by a refreshed sonic language that draws as much from contemporary jazz as it does from indie-pop and the current British fusion scene. Through this project, the musician pays a heartfelt tribute to his father, Claude Mayotte.
