New York guitarist-composer Mordy Ferber is an internationally acclaimed jazz musician whose playing and compositions have earned him a place among the 350 greatest jazz guitarists of all time, as listed in Scott Yanow's The Great Jazz Guitarists: The Ultimate Guide. Known for his intricate melodies, fearless improvisation, and a truly distinctive voice on the instrument, he has recorded five albums as a leader and performed alongside legendary artists such as Michael Brecker, Jack DeJohnette, Dave Liebman, and Larry Coryell. His music has been featured on acclaimed television productions including The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, and the Grammy Awards. A dedicated educator with over 35 years of experience at institutions including NYU, Berklee College of Music, and the New School, Mordy has led masterclasses in improvisation, harmony, and composition around the world. As Jazz Times puts it, he is "a powerful, contemporary guitarist with an attitude, energy, and a pluck all his own."
